What gets in
The runway is 2,420 metres by 45, at just 59 feet of elevation, out on the plain. It takes aircraft up to heavy jets with a performance check: a Global or a long-range Falcon operates here without difficulty. There is a CAT II ILS on runway 07, with low visibility procedures when visibility drops below 550 metres. No terrain difficulty, unlike Bolzano and Innsbruck: here the ground is not a factor.
The constraint that decides it: the night
The tower is open from 06:00 to 22:00 local. Outside that window nothing operates. It is the figure that counts for more than the runway, and it has to be said before quoting: a flight coming from far away with a departure delay risks finding the airport shut. When the timing is uncertain, or the flight arrives from outside Schengen late in the evening, the answer is Verona, open twenty-four hours with customs always on duty.

Cortina d'Ampezzo in two hours or two hours twenty, on a road that crosses no Alpine pass: that is Cortina's real advantage, and it holds from Treviso as it does from Venice. For Alta Badia the short road goes over the Falzarego and the Valparola, which close without warning after every snowfall: in winter, for Alta Badia, we recommend Bolzano, even though Treviso looks more convenient on paper.
