Private jet · Hahnenkamm 2027, 18-24 January: the Streif on the 23rd, and Davos the same week

The 87th edition of the Hahnenkamm races runs from 18 to 24 January 2027, with the downhill on the Streif on Saturday 23 at 11:30. Salzburg is 81 kilometres away, Innsbruck 96. What nobody flags is that on the same days, from the 18th to the 22nd, the World Economic Forum is in Davos. In the third week of January 2027 the alpine fleet is committed twice over.

The programme, day by day

The 87th edition of the Hahnenkamm races takes place at Kitzbühel from 18 to 24 January 2027. Downhill training starts on Tuesday 19, continues on Wednesday 20 alongside the junior slalom on the Ganslern, and closes on Thursday 21 with the final run. Friday 22 at 11:30 is the super-G on the Streifalm. Saturday 23 at 11:30 is the downhill on the Streif, the race that draws the crowd. Sunday 24 is the slalom on the Ganslern, first run at 10:30 and second at 13:30. Anyone wanting to see the Streif has to be in the valley by Friday evening: Saturday morning you do not get in.

  • Sovrapposizione con il World Economic Forum di Davos, 18-22 gennaio 2027: flotta ed equipaggi impegnati negli stessi giorni.

Salzburg or Innsbruck: not equal

Salzburg is 81 kilometres from Kitzbühel, about an hour and a half. Innsbruck is 96. The real difference is not the kilometres: Salzburg has a 2,750-metre runway with category II and III ILS, while Innsbruck has a single 2,000-metre runway at the bottom of the Inn valley and requires the crew to have trained on site in visual conditions or in a simulator to operate below 3,000 feet of ceiling or 5 kilometres of visibility. On a snowy January morning Salzburg lands and Innsbruck does not. For a race you watch once a year, that is not a technical nuance: it is the difference between being there and not.

The week with two events

In 2027 there is a coincidence that weighs: while Kitzbühel races from 18 to 24 January, in Davos the World Economic Forum runs from 18 to 22. Two large events, in the same region, on the same days. Zurich in that week limits ground time to two or three hours without approved parking, and the fleet available across the whole alpine arc shrinks. For Hahnenkamm 2027 the booking has to be made months ahead, not weeks, and it is worth securing stand and slot at both possible airports before deciding which to use.

How we work

Alpine Private Jet works with Air-Dynamic, a Swiss company that arranges charter flights and operates helicopter and air ambulance directly. For the Hahnenkamm we give you two quotes side by side, Salzburg and Innsbruck, with crew requirements verified and parking already requested. We do not book tickets, tables or experiences: we move you and your luggage. The intermediation fee is written into the quote. Quote in 1 minute.

Questions we get

When is the Streif downhill in 2027?

Saturday 23 January 2027 at 11:30. The super-G is Friday 22 at 11:30 on the Streifalm, the slalom Sunday 24 on the Ganslern.

Which is the best airport for Kitzbühel?

Salzburg: 81 kilometres, about an hour and a half, and category II and III ILS. Innsbruck is 96 kilometres and requires simulator training from the crew to operate with a low ceiling.

When should I book?

Months ahead. In 2027 the week coincides with the World Economic Forum in Davos (18-22 January), so available fleet and crews across the alpine region are at their lowest.

How much parking is there at Salzburg?

Fourteen main positions plus the general aviation apron, and three hangars totalling 5,660 square metres. In the peak, parking must be requested together with the slot.

When is it best to arrive?

By Friday 22 in the evening if the goal is Saturday's downhill. Most arrivals cluster on Thursday and Friday, departures between Sunday evening and Monday morning.

Is PPR required?

At Salzburg yes, from mid-December. At Innsbruck it goes to airport operations, and parking is limited.

Tell us the date. We tell you where you land.

Give us the day and how many of you are travelling: we come back with the airport that holds up on that date, the aircraft that fits your luggage and what the last leg costs.
