The Lech Zürs tourist board publishes the complete table, something almost nobody in private aviation does: Innsbruck 120 kilometres and an hour and a half to an hour fifty, Friedrichshafen 130 kilometres and an hour and three quarters, Memmingen 160 kilometres and two hours, Zurich 190 kilometres and two and a quarter to two and a half hours, Munich 230 kilometres and two and three quarter hours, Salzburg 300 kilometres and three and a quarter to three and a half hours. Between the first and the last there is almost two hours. If you are planning an evening return, those two hours are the difference between dinner at home and dinner on the motorway.

Innsbruck is closest. It is not the simplest
Innsbruck is 120 kilometres away, via the Arlberg pass. It also carries the heaviest crew requirement in the whole eastern Alps: before using the instrument procedures with less than 3,000 feet of ceiling or 5 kilometres of visibility, the crew must have trained on site in visual conditions or in a simulator. And parking is limited. In bad weather the operator list shortens precisely on the days you would want it to lengthen. The sensible approach is to hold two quotes: Innsbruck and one of the Rhine valley airports.
The week when Zurich is not an option
From 18 to 22 January 2027 the World Economic Forum is held in Davos, and Zurich becomes the most congested airport in Europe: without approved parking the aircraft can stay two or three hours. Anyone going to Lech that week has nothing to do with the Forum but takes the consequences. Friedrichshafen and Memmingen, in those days, are worth the extra kilometres.
